About Us

The story behind Knotted Post — our mission, our team, and our commitment to independent journalism from northern Nigeria.

Who We Are

Knotted Post is a news, commentary, and culture publication rooted in northern Nigeria — the Arewa region. We cover politics, gender issues, religion, entertainment, and the vibrant Kannywood film industry, publishing in both English and Hausa for a diverse, engaged readership.

Our voice is bold and conversational. We blend serious investigative reporting and social-justice commentary with the energy of celebrity gossip, digital culture, and lifestyle coverage. We believe northern Nigerian stories deserve to be told with nuance, urgency, and honesty.

Our Mission

Knotted Post exists to inform, provoke, and entertain. We shine a light on under-reported stories — from governance failures and human-rights abuses to the everyday dramas of Arewa social media. We champion gender justice, amplify marginalised voices, and hold power to account, all while celebrating the cultural richness of the region.

We are registered as a charitable organisation in England and Wales, reflecting our commitment to public-interest journalism free from commercial or political pressure.

Our Team

Knotted Post is produced by a small, dedicated editorial team. Our contributors include:

  • KP Post — editor and lead writer
  • Maryam Jema'are — contributor
  • Shamsiyya Haruna — contributor

We also welcome pitches from new voices across the Arewa region and beyond. If you have a story to tell, visit our Write for Us page.
